What is it?
Ketamine assisted psychotherapy (KAP) is when you receive psychotherapy alongside your ketamine infusions for depression, anxiety, and/or PTSD.
How does it work?
You will meet with your KAP provider at their office (just 4 minutes away from Invictus Clinic) once prior to your first ketamine infusion. During this session you will get to know your KAP provider and go over your mental health history and your goals during the ketamine infusions. Your KAP provider will answer any questions you have about the treatment process.
For each of the six infusions, your KAP provider will be with you every step of the way. He/she will be at each session with you and will perform neurofeedback meditation before each session with you. You may also receive audio-visual entrainment therapy during the infusions if you wish (please google this term to learn more about how it helps to achieve a deep meditative state).
Patients may obtain therapy in four different formats. Don’t worry if you don’t know which you prefer, you will likely know after your first infusion.
1. The therapist will be with you during the infusion.
2. You will receive therapy for the hour prior to the infusion.
3. You will receive therapy for the hour post infusion.
4. You attend therapy on the days in between infusions.
Does KAP work?
KAP has been extensively studied for more than 10 years and there are over 100 academic studies demonstrating its effectiveness in significantly alleviating symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance abuse.
Who do I contact to set up the first pre-infusion session?
Please contact Dr. Alex Kohl at Talk it out Counseling Services at 470-217-7347 or by email at drkohl@talkitoutga.com. You may also ask the staff at Invictus Clinic to have us contact you.
How much does it cost?

REMEMBER, WE ARE HERE FOR YOU
Both Invictus Clinic and Talk it Out, Counseling Services are here to help you improve your mental health and alleviate your suffering. If you choose to obtain KAP services but after a session or two decide to do the infusions without KAP, that is no problem; you may terminate KAP at any point during the process.
